Arsene Wenger is reported to have been offered a return to football management with high-flying Japanese side Vissel Kobe.
The 69-year-old has been away from the game since leaving Arsenal in the summer of 2018, to be replaced by Unai Emery following a 22-year reign at the helm.
Now Wenger could be set to step back into the dug-out on a short-term basis, and return to a country where he once worked before.
Wenger managed in Japan with Nagoya Grampus Eight from 1995 to 1996 and now has the option to make a return with Vissel Kobe, according to Goal.
It is reported Wenger has been contacted by the Japanese club and offered two-and-a-half year deal, running until the end of 2021.
The Frenchman is said to have been offered £3.5million (€4m) per year to take up the offer.
Should he agree, Wenger would find himself in charge of decorated names including Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta, David Villa and Lukas Podolski.
The latter worked with Wenger during a spell at Arsenal, before moving to Asia to continue his goal-scoring exploits.

I would like him to manage Barcelona! His style of football will suit us and he can rebuild our team as he has done with Arsenal many times before!
