Jacob Murphy is close to agreeing a loan switch to West Bromwich Albion.

Newcastle are letting the 23-year-old leave after securing the signing of Miguel Almiron for a club record £20million fee.

Darren Moore has been searching for a new winger after Harvey Barnes was recalled by Leicester and sees Murphy as an ideal addition in West Brom's bid to return to the Premier League. The deal is a straight loan until the end of the season.

Signed by Newcastle for £11m in July 2017, Murphy made a good impact towards the end of last season but has fallen out of Rafa Benitez's plans this term, making 13 appearances in all competitions. His last Premier League game came as a late substitute at Chelsea on January 12.

Murphy has been determined to get regular games and will add speed and goals to Moore's team. He scored 10 times for Norwich in his last campaign in the Championship.
