West Ham's 'Academy of Football' is set to get its chance to impress in the FA Cup third-round replay with Championship Bristol City.
Callum Marshall, Patrick Kelly, George Earthy, Ollie Scarles and Divin Mubama - all 19 years old or younger - have been training with the first team in the build-up to the fixture at Ashton Gate.
All five were starters in last year's FA Youth Cup final victory over Arsenal and are expected to be involved in some capacity on Tuesday night, as manager David Moyes deals with a squad depleted by injuries and international call-ups.
There have been calls for Moyes to show more trust in youth, with Jeremy Ngakia still the last academy graduate to start a Premier League game for West Ham in January 2020.
Kelly and Earthy have already been tied down to new deals - and both were involved in the Under-21s' win at West Brom on Monday - but the club remain in talks with Mubama and Marshall ahead of their contracts expiring at the end of this season. Scarles, the 18-year-old midfielder, is highly rated and his deal runs until the summer of 2025.
First-teamers such as Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta and Michail Antonio are sidelined, while Mohammed Kudus and Nayef Aguerd are away at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Speaking on Monday, Moyes's assistant Billy McKinlay said: 'The squad might not be as big for the next couple of games as it has been because of injuries. Players have to take their opportunity when it comes.
'No player is ever content when they're not selected, so if and when they're given their opportunity that's their job to produce what they're capable of.
'We play games to win. You talk to anyone around the club and you want to be successful in the cups. Winning breeds a hunger and a desire to go again.'
The winner will go on to meet Nottingham Forest or Blackpool in the FA Cup's fourth round.
