West Ham captain Mark Noble's position in the starting XI could come under threat with manager Manuel Pellegrini concerned about a lack of mobility in midfield.
Noble has been a mainstay of the Hammers' midfield since breaking into the first-team in 2004 and remains a hugely popular figure amongst supporters.
But his role in the team is coming under scrutiny with new manager Pellegrini keen to add 'more legs' into his engine room.
West Ham have lost their opening two Premier League games and face a tough trip to Arsenal this weekend.
Noble and Jack Wilshere played in midfield on Saturday, the former substituted towards the end of the second half.
The Hammers have Carlos Sanchez and Pedro Obiang who could fill the role of a central midfield runner that Pellegrini is considering adding to his team.
It remains to be seen whether Pellegrini makes changes to his team this weekend - but given Wilshere has only just joined it appears Noble is more at risk of losing his place than the former Arsenal star.

My dad is a season ticket holder and said he was flagging last season, but on saturday ge was well off the pace & out on his feet. Tries his hardest & his heart is 100% in it, but his legs are not. Squad player now.

He's only still in that team because he's a loyal servant but I don't think he's got the legs anymore and looks like he's blowing half the time.. time for a step down to the Championship or squad player

Did you know. Spurs have more stadiums than Arsenal and West Ham combined points total.

It's been on the cards for a while now, not the player he was a couple of seasons ago.

I think we all know he is past his prime, but its nice to see a loyal player to his club rather than one chasing the millions elsewhere at every opportunity. Having said that West Ham in both games this season have looked very unfit or lacking in desire, which is a disgrace to their loyal supporters.

Has earned the respect from every West Ham fan that wished they could have played for the club but with that being said he now has a limited role but he can be counted on whenever called upon.

If Mark Noble could move around the pitch as fast as he runs his mouth, he would be the first name on the team sheet every week.

Said it before. Say it again. Noble isn't problem. It's the system. Wilshere, Fredericks, masuaku all going forward. Wingers not tracking back. Even Kante would struggle when his outnumbered every time

no matter who plays next game we are going to get thrashed, Arsenal can't be as bad as us. false hopes again this season.

He`s been a great loyal player at West Ham, but I think he`s older than me and I`m 73.
