Leicester City were on the cusp of a confidence-boosting win at home to West Ham United in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, but the Hammers scored a goal in second-half stoppage time to steal a point from the King Power Stadium.
Jarrod Bowen gave West Ham the lead in the 10th minute, but the teams went into the half-time break level after Youri Tielemans converted a penalty in the 44th minute, following an Aaron Cresswell handball.
Leicester came out for the second half with better mindset and ended up going ahead thanks to Ricardo Pereira's header 12 minutes after the interval, but Craig Dawson popped up in the dying embers of the match to secure a point for West Ham.
The opening goal for West Ham arrived after a long ball by Issa Diop over the top of Leicester's defence, with Bowen running in behind. The in-form winger then took a touch before sending a left-footed shot across Kasper Schmeichel to record his seventh league goal of the season.
There was a reaction by Leicester towards the latter part of the first half, and eventually they were rewarded for their attacking intent as Cresswell handled James Maddison's corner. Tielemans then stepped up and sent his shot into the corner, just beyond the reach of Lukasz Fabianski.
Leicester made an impressive start after the break and were able to take the lead in the 57th minute. Tielemans switched the ball out to Harvey Barnes, who sent a cross into the area that Ricardo headed into the back of the net.
As the game was heading towards a close, David Moyes instructed centre-back Craig Dawson to stay forward and it ended up paying dividends, as he managed to turn home a corner in the 91st minute. There was a VAR review as it came off the top of his arm, but the goal was given.
West Ham still in the Champions League places
West Ham remain in fourth place in the table on 41 points, but they have Manchester United and Arsenal one and two points behind respectively, with both of these teams having games in hand on the Hammers. Leicester, meanwhile, find themselves in 11th on 27 points.
