What Guardiola told Koeman after signing Aguero

Pep Guardiola has revealed the glowing tribute he gave of Sergio Aguero to Ronald Koeman after the striker signed for Barcelona.

Whilst rumours have been growing that Guardiola looked to force Aguero out of Manchester City, he strongly denied these by expressing how lucky Koeman is to have him at the Camp Nou.

"[Ronald Koeman] has made a spectacular signing with Kun [Aguero], he is a great goalscorer, a very good guy, he is a jewel, very intelligent, as I explained to Ronald, they have made a great signing," Guardiola told local media in Mallorca.

His response comes after Aguero's father, Leonel del Castillo, claimed that Guardiola had no intention of keeping Aguero at the club and looked to force him out.

"There are things that happen in football when someone tells you that you won't be carrying on at the club and you should look to change clubs," Leonel del Castillo said.

"[Pep] Guardiola never wanted [Sergio] Aguero."
