Arsenal's quest to win the Champions League will encounter one of its biggest challenges tonight as the Premier League title contenders meet German giants Bayern Munich.

Despite the arrival of Harry Kane and the 32 goals that have come from that move Munich, who have won the Bundesliga an incredible 11 times in a row, have struggled in a season that's seen Bayer Leverkusen close in on taking the German top division title for the first time in their history. Munich's unusual and inconsistent performances this season will no doubt give Mikel Arteta's side a firm belief they can overcome the German side.

Despite Arsenal's excellent form there will be a worry rippling across the capital with the Gunners' previous meetings with Bayern Munich all still too fresh in the memory for some Arsenal fans. The gunners have endured a miserable time against the Germans in Champions League ties of recent years with Munich winning all of their previous knock-out encounters in Europes' top competition.

Most notable was the 2017/17 Champions League tie where Bayern humiliated the Gunners 10-2 on aggregate in the Round of 16. However, hopes are high in the red corner of North London that Mike Arteta's seemingly unstoppable Arsenal side can finally register a big victory over the German giants.

Arsenal will host Bayern at the Emirates tonight, Tuesday April 9, with UK kick-off time set for 8pm.

As with all European games this season the first and second leg quarter-final clash between Arsenal vs Bayern will be live on TNT Sports.
