Nineteen years ago, Liverpool completed a unique treble of League Cup, FA Cup and UEFA Cup.
The Reds had already won the first of those competitions in February, beating Birmingham City on penalties at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.
The FA Cup was added to the trophy cabinet with a stunning come-from-behind victory over Arsenal at the same ground.
And on 16 May, just four days after that Michael Owen-inspired triumph, Gerard Houllier's side beat Alaves 5-4 to secure the UEFA Cup.
But where are Liverpool's treble winners now? We've taken a look at the team that defeated Alaves on that night in Dortmund.
Sander Westerveld
This was the Dutch goalkeeper's final game in a Liverpool shirt. He joined Real Sociedad in the summer, and later represented Portsmouth and Everton in the Premier League.
Westerveld hung up his gloves in 2013 and now works as goalkeeping coach at South African side Ajax Cape Town.
Markus Babbel
Liverpool's UEFA Cup triumph was the second time Babbel lifted the trophy, having also been victorious with Bayern Munich in 1996.
The defender stayed at Liverpool until 2004, when he joined Stuttgart. He retired three years later and went into coaching, most recently managing Australian outfit Western Sydney Wanderers.
Sami Hyypia
Before Virgil van Dijk came along, Hyypia was arguably Liverpool's best centre-back of the Premier League era.
The Finn went into management after retiring, bossing Bayer Leverkusen, Brighton and FC Zurich, but he's not had a coaching role in four years. He now works as an ambassador for Liverpool.
Stephane Henchoz
Henchoz remained with Liverpool until 2005, after which he played for Celtic, Wigan Athletic and Blackburn Rovers.
The Swiss defender called it a day in 2008, before also embarking on a managerial career. His most recent job was with FC Sion, which ended when he resigned last November.
Jamie Carragher
Carragher went on to become Liverpool's leading Premier League appearance maker, and sits second behind Ian Callaghan on the all-time list.
The former England international now works for Sky Sports and is widely considered to be one of the best pundits around.
Gary McAllister
McAllister was an inspired signing on a free transfer in the summer of 2000. The Scot spent two seasons at Anfield, then brought the curtain down on his playing career with Coventry City.
McAllister now plies his trade at Rangers, working as Steven Gerrard's assistant.
Steven Gerrard
The treble season gave Gerrard his first taste of success in a Liverpool shirt, but he went on to win four more major trophies.
Gerrard has been Rangers manager since 2018 and is widely tipped to take the reins at Anfield in the future.
Dietmar Hamann
Hamann was one of five players who featured in both the 2001 UEFA Cup final and the Champions League final four years later.
After a brief stint in charge of Stockport, the German now works as a pundit and broadcaster.
Danny Murphy
Murphy left Liverpool in 2004 and went on to play for Charlton, Tottenham, Fulham and Blackburn before retiring in 2013.
He now works as a pundit and is a regular on Match of the Day.
Michael Owen
Owen also departed Anfield in 2004, but he was never able to replicate his Liverpool form elsewhere.
The one-time Ballon d'Or winner is another ex-Red who has moved into punditry since hanging up his boots.
Emile Heskey
Heskey was an ideal strike partner for Owen, and he would spend another three years on Merseyside before spells with Birmingham, Wigan, Aston Villa, Newcastle and Bolton.
Heskey called time on his playing days in 2016 and said last year that he wants to “have a go” at coaching.
Substitutes
Vladimir Smicer
Smicer was a substitute in both the 2001 UEFA Cup final and the 2005 Champions League final.
The Czech retired in 2009 following spells at Bordeaux and Slavia Prague. He now works as an ambassador for Liverpool and also owns a hotel in Prague.
Patrik Berger
Berger left Liverpool for Portsmouth in 2003, then played for Aston Villa, Stoke and Sparta Prague before retiring.
He now spends his time doing punditry and working as a Liverpool ambassador.
Robbie Fowler
One of the most popular Liverpool players of the Premier League era, Fowler left Anfield in 2001 but returned for a second spell under Rafael Benitez.
The former striker is currently manager of Australian team Brisbane Roar, having previously bossed Muangthong United in Thailand.
