Mauricio Pochettino has blasted VAR, claiming Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was fouled in the build-up to Real Madrid's first goal on Wednesday in the second leg of the Champions League last 16.
Donnarumma came together with Karim Benzema before giving the ball away, and moments later the Frenchman found the back of the net.
Pochettino said the moment changed the game as it allowed Madrid to begin their comeback to win 3-2 on aggregate.
What has been said?
"I think the first goal changes the game," Pochettino told Canal+. "I wonder what the VAR is doing, for me there is a foul on Donnarumma. It's a shame, because when you see the action again, it's a foul.
"Afterwards, the match changed. That goal changed everything. I think it's impossible not to talk about this big mistake. It's hard to accept. I won't forgive it."
What about the rest of the match?
"I don't want to talk about the performance," Pochettino said before returning to the VAR controversy. "It's unbelievable to see this in 2022. I don't believe it. I think everything changed in the stadium. The players were upset about the situation, and soccer is about emotions.
"Yes, we made some mistakes after that, we have to admit it, but when there is emotion, soccer changes. It's difficult to manage a team after this kind of event. This is the worst thing that could happen to us. It's very difficult to accept this result.
"Even if we have the ability to analyze the situation. Benzema fouls Donnarumma for me. It will be difficult. We all know that Paris Saint-Germain has been chasing the Champions League for years.
"The players will be upset. These things happen. It will be difficult to change this state of mind. Yes, I think that in a moment like this, we must remember the good things. We can lose to Real Madrid, which is one of the best clubs in the world, but not in this way."

Why do we always like to pull controversy in all of RM wins? Those guys suffered very much but never gave up. Is it our fault that PSG could not withstand pressure? Please let us enjoy our win and stop this RM conspiracy nonsense that comes up each time we win.

Lol where is the foul? Donnarumma was stupid enough to hold the ball way too long. Big Benz stole it off of him clean.

Brethren, allow me to read from the Holy Football Bible International Version, Uefa Champions League chapter 3, verse 9, and I go before thee...quote, "And they endured and soaked all the pressure from the enemy who had cornered them into a cave for 2 weeks, just when they fought all hope was lost, the madridian Karim son of Benzema last of his name, looked to the skies and with his last breath, commanded from his forefathers the legendary powers of a thousand merengues and destroyed his enemies with three blistering attacks leaving the enemy agonizingly scampering in all directions screaming in pain like they knew no other!", Amen!

That is not even enough to complain about the wining. Look at the distance Benzema covered to pressure the Keeper. The manager should blame himself to start Dona instead of Navas. because navas will never concede such cheap goals
