Gerrard has always had that extra impact in a game, as with players in the line of Pirlo, Zidane, Xavi, etc... He has the habit of not only bringing himself into the game, but bringing his team mates into the game as well. The Champions League 2005 campaign is testament to that, he has played in completely average Liverpool squads to shine the brightest, always. So much that Zidane hailed him as the best player in the world back in 2008. Gerrard has always given 100% to his club, and specially his team mates. How many times did he provide that killer ball to Torres, no offense to Lampard, he failed to provide that. Gerrard has played in various positions for Liverpool during his career and he has excelled in most of them. Compared to Lampard in Chelsea, Lampard has always played with excellent players that have always provided him great service and great play. Don't get me wrong Lampard is a fucking excellent player but Gerrard is the fucking legend, he will always be associated with being the best or one of the best Premier League players of all time, and the may be quite the best player for Liverpool of all time.

For me this is the most difficult choice I've seen..Both of them in the peak of their powers were astonishing..but scored many important goals numerous assist champions league winners both have been among the top 3best players in the world.. Gerrard was a better leader didn't mean frank didn't have leadership qualities..Frank scoring more goals takes nothing away from Gerrard incredible strikes..Gerrard looking more natural takes nothing away from Lampard work ethic both are masters of late runs into the box and long shots..Liverpool fans will choose Gerrard chelsea fans choose Lampard but for me they're inseparable...But for sure Lampard and Gerrard not forgetting Scholes are the best midfielders to have graced the Premier League and England...
