Dylan Levitt has been included in Manchester United's travelling squad for their trip to FC Astana.

He joins other young talents such as Max Taylor, Largie Ramazani and Teden Mengi in the squad.

Key information

Levitt was born in Bodelwyddan in North Wales on November 17th, 2000.

He's a midfielder who has represented Wales at age group level in both Under-17s and Under-18s categories and has recently been called up by Ryan Giggs into the senior side for recent qualifiers against Hungary, Azerbaijan, Slovakia and Croatia. Yet despite making those three squads, he's yet to be handed a full senior international debut.

Levitt is a classy midfield operator, who prefers to push forward into attacking positions and act as his team's main playmaker.

Levitt is highly rated by coaches in the United setup and he was handed his first ever professional contract in April 2018, and then improved terms earlier this month to keep him at Old Trafford until June 2022, with the option of an extra year.

He's been with United since the age of eight and was last season shortlisted for the fabled Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award — a gong that was won by Mason Greenwood.

Those who have seen him up close have even compared his midfield style with Paul Scholes. And as well as academy chief Nicky Butt, Wales boss and United legend Giggs is also a big fan of the 19-year-old.

Levitt has made 14 appearances for Paul Bodin's Welsh Under-19 outfit, laying on an assist in Euro U19 championship qualifier against Spain in March this year and he made his Welsh Under-21s debut in October.

How he's done for United's youth sides

Levittt has made the jump from Under-18s to Under-23s in the United youth system in the past 12 months, becoming a regular for Neil Wood's side and helping them compete at the top of their division this season.

Despite picking up the odd injury this term, Levitt has caught the eye and United fans lauded his display for the Under-23s against Sunderland at Old Trafford on Friday night — in which the Welshman laid on a fabulous assist in the 3-0 victory, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Mike Phelan watching.

Levitt has taken on a senior role in the Under-23s of late as the likes of Angel Gomes and James Garner have been absent while on senior duty. He's made 10 appearances in all for Wood's team, scoring three goals and laying on four assists.
