Wilfried Zaha has revealed he has received direct messages on social media over a potential return to Manchester United - but remained coy on whether he would return to Old Trafford.
Crystal Palace winger Zaha spent a disappointing year and a half at United, where he only managed to make four first team appearances, two of which came in the Premier League.
But now, after glittering back at Palace since his return five seasons ago, Zaha has been linked with a return to United.
Palace have slapped an £80million price tag on their prized possession, around £70m more than the cost for him in 2013, although the Red Devils reportedly face competition from Arsenal .
And Zaha has admitted United fans have been getting into contact with him on Twitter and Instagram begging him to make a come back to Manchester.
“I’m getting DMs [direct messages on Twitter]: ‘Would you come back to Man Utd?’” Zaha told The Jackal magazine.
“Oh, really? I was in a bad place then. But I’m good now.”
During his spell at the Red Devils, Zaha spent his first half a season back on loan at Palace before playing out at Cardiff and once again at Selhurst Park.
The Ivory Coast international complained about David Moyes' distrust of him during his frustrating time spent on the Old Trafford bench, claiming in an interview with the Sun in 2014: "I signed for Sir Alex Ferguson and expected him to be the manager," Zaha told the Sun .
"David Moyes arrived and obviously - in general - he had to play older players.
"For some games I was not even on the bench. That was tough, very frustrating. You need the manager to trust you and that was not the case.
"Raheem Sterling went through a tough period at Liverpool and there was talk of him going out on loan. But Brendan Rodgers trusted him and he was allowed to get that experience and pull through."
