Wolves star Raul Jimenez is 'excited' that 'things are going well' in his rehabilitation from a groin injury.

The 31-year-old had been suffering with chronic fatigue, before being diagnosed with pubalgia, which has prevented him from training.

Wolves have since been working alongside the Mexican medical team, as he continues his rehabilitation program in his native country - who are keen to have him back in time for the World Cup next month.

Upon his return to Mexico, Jimenez was spotted at former club CF America, where he was seen walking around their facilities.

'It was my turn to be here today,' he told news outlet Tiempo. 'I'm doing my rehabilitation.'

Asked about how his recovery is going, he said: 'Happy, excited, things are going well and fortunately we are doing well, and we hope to continue like this.'

The Wolves striker is facing a battle against time to be fit for the World Cup, with Mexico's first game of the tournament coming on November 22, against Poland.

Meanwhile, the president of the Mexican Football Federation, Yon de Luisa, added: 'Raúl is here, he is in Mexico. The diagnosis you have is pubalgia. He will be working with our medical authorities here in Mexico City for 15 days and after 15 days another check-up will be done together with the doctors we are in.

'Here is a triangle of doctors who are those of the National Team, those of Wolverhampton and those of Los Angeles, who are the ones who are reviewing it.'

Jimenez has made just three Premier League appearances so far this season due to his fitness issues, and Wolves have struggled without him.

The side sit 18th in the Premier League, having only scored three goals in their nine matches so far.

Wolves brought in former Chelsea striker Diego Costa to help ease their problems in attack, though the Spaniard has yet to score for the club.
