The resurgence of Rangers' midfielder Tom Lawrence is opening the door to a potential move away from Ibrox this summer.
Despite reports of another year's option in Rangers' favour, the Wales international will become a free agent in June.
And his return to fitness and form could not be timed better.
The 31-year-old scored the winning penalty in Rangers' Europa League triumph over Fenerbahce, was recalled to the Wales squad by Craig Bellamy last month and provided another goal and assist in Rangers' 4-3 comeback win over Dundee last weekend.
Numerous clubs in the UK and abroad are keeping a check on his situation including high flying Wrexham who are prepared to make an ambitious attempt to lure the local-born striker to the club.
Wrexham hope to sustain their meteoric rise with promotion to the Championship and want to boost their homegrown contingent.
Lawrence was born in Wrexham before joining Manchester United as an eight-year-old and eventually turning professional.
However, Wrexham face competition from other Championship clubs such as Burnley, Coventry City, managed by his former boss Frank Lampard, West Brom, Middlesbrough and Blackburn Rovers. all are aware that Lawrence has vast experience having played nearly 300 games in the Championship before his move to Rangers in 2022.
Olympiacos, PAOK in Greece and Besiktas - coached by his former United U21s boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer - are also interested.
Lawrence has not ruled out extending his stay at Rangers either. Though his contract is up in the summer he remains an influential and popular figure in the dressing room and has produced form at the right time with new owners imminent.
Wales boss Craig Bellamy also praised Lawrence's versatility during his most recent call up. And Lawrence added: 'I've had I don't know how many conversations with the manager. Each time he's said about different positions so it's exciting. I think every player matures more and more. I can play in various positions for Rangers - centre-midfield, number 10, right wing, left wing, false nine - so it adapts.
'I've played in a lot of big games, I've been at Rangers and that's only going to help you, especially coming back into the international level.'
