Xavi Hernandez has renewed his contract with Al Sadd until 2023.
However, the Barcelona legend's contract contains a clause releasing him from his deal should he be offered the chance to take over at the Camp Nou.
As MARCA have explained, Xavi is eager to work with the club until 2022 to complete a full cycle as the 2022 World Cup takes place in Qatar.
However, should an offer arrive from Barcelona, he will not hesitate to answer their call.
Despite attracting interest from a number of top European clubs, he would only consider ending his time in Qatar to return to Barcelona, where he enjoyed a glittering career as a player.
