Transport for Greater Manchester have mocked Liverpool with a satirical sign ahead of Manchester City's trophy parade on Monday, May 20.

The message shown on a traffic information board in the city read 'You'll not be walking alone' in red font alluding to title rivals Liverpool's club song.

The sign continues: 'MCFC trophy parade. Mon 20th May. Leave your car at home for shorter jrnys #YNWA'.

Pep Guardiola and his players will board an open-top bus to show off their silverware following an incredible season of achievement.

They will be able to lift the Premier League and Carabao Cup trophies and will hope to have the FA Cup as well.

A stage show next to Manchester Cathedral will get underway at 5pm with the parade itself departing from the Town Hall at 6pm.

The bus will make its way past Peter Street and travel down Deansgate before arriving at the Cathedral at 6.45pm.

The players will be presented on stage at 7pm with the event scheduled to finish at around 7.30pm.

City retained their Premier League title with a 4-1 victory at Brighton on Sunday, meaning they finished a point ahead of Liverpool following a nip and tuck title race.

They became the first team to successfully defend their Premier League title since Sir Alex Ferguson's Manchester United side in 2009.

Guardiola's side have also won the Carabao Cup this season and have the opportunity to complete an unprecedented domestic Treble when they play Watford in the FA Cup final this Saturday.
