Manchester United summer signing Leny Yoro has sent fans a message after undergoing surgery on his left foot.
The 18-year-old moved to Old Trafford from Lille in a £52million transfer on July 18 and made his debut for the Red Devils in a 2-0 win over Rangers two days later.
But Yoro's United career was dealt an early setback the following week when he suffered a foot injury just half an hour into a 2-1 defeat by Arsenal in the USA.
It later emerged that Yoro would need surgery.
That surgery on Yoro's left foot took place on Monday and United said in a statement that it had been a success, but also that it would take the defender three months before he returned to fitness.
Yoro later issued a statement of his own via social media.
He wrote: 'This is not the start I wanted, but that's football… The operation went well. Thank you for your many messages of support
'Now, time for patience and rehabilitation work. See you soon, stronger'.
Alongside this message, Yoro posted a photo of himself giving a thumbs up gesture from a hotel bed.
He also shared an image featuring a quote from the Bible, which read: 'Jesus replied, You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.'
United will begin their 2024-25 campaign on Sunday when they face local rivals Manchester City for the Community Shield.
As well as missing Yoro, United have doubts over the fitness of fellow centre backs Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof.

the moment he realized Madrid was joking is when they offered to pay him 20k weekly but a serious United that values him more was ready to pay 120k weekly then his destination became obvious
Not at all. He rejected Man U and the direction of his former club told him that if he made the club lose profit the club will destroy his career by benching him the entire season. Yoro is a youngster, being afraid he accepted the deal to be done.

hate to see this. awful luck for the kid and for united
that's the result when you sign by force a player whose soul and spirit are elsewhere.

It was a by force signing. When the player said "I don't like Man U, my dream is Madrid" both his soul and spirit turned back to Man U. But Man U had used money to take the body. When the soul and or the spirit is not together/pasted with the body, things don't go as expected. The guy refused Man U. His former club and Man U had forced and didn't allow the guy to make a decision himself. That is a lesson for Man U.

MU prefer tranfer players to hospital rather then from otherclub?
so stop signing players whose soul and spirit are elsewhere

‘How fragile we are’
because you sign by force players who have their souls and spirit elsewhere

some players are very wicked, we fans are not happy that you are injured, we spent big money on you with the hope that you can solve our defensive crisis and start the season with you,now you're posting for fun on the hospital bed
it's a matter of fate. Man U and his former club had made pressure on him to sign for Man U. His soul and spirit are not at Man U,so things can't go well for the body.
