Liverpool and Manchester United couldn't look like two more different clubs right now and that's shown in the difference in their players' wages, with the Red Devils clearly overpaying.
Man Utd vs Liverpool has remained of the hottest rivalries in English football even with the clubs rarely close in the Premier League. For much of the past 30 years, it was United leading the league and Liverpool rarely too close, save for a few seasons.
Now it's Jurgen Klopp's side who lead the league and their rivals are 27 points behind and looking a complete shambles both on and off the pitch.
Now fans are comparing the two clubs' wages with United spending far more than the league leaders:
As per Spotrac, the highest earner for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team is David de Gea, who is paid £375,000-a-week, on the other side of the north-west Salah's £200,000-a-week is the most any Liverpool player is paid.
Mane has been one of the best players in the league for the last two seasons, and arguably overtaken Salah as the best player in Klopp's squad, earns just £100,000-a-week.
In comparison United have the rarely seen Ashley Young, Nemanja Matic and Juan Mata all on more than the African player of the year.
Jesse Lingard, who hasn't scored in the league for over a year, earns £75k-a-week which means that Andrew Robertson, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Divock Origi are already earning less for their team despite far more telling contributions.
The website claims that overall the Old Trafford club spend £141,435,000 on wages whilst at Anfield they're 'only' spending £113,256,000.
It's not just the direct comparison that makes for poor reading for fans of the 13 time Premier League winners but the fact that spending so much money has left them so far behind their rivals.
Solskjaer has tried to reduce the wages at United with the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez, Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini all allowed to leave.
Lingard, Young and Matic could be amongst the next to leave the club but they are also in need of replacing players with more quality, as they're clearly miles behind.

Wages is not by what you play it depends on how your former team has been paying you and the type of deal you signed with the new club.So the comparison is just useless..And we personally know some of our players need to go bcs they are just occupying space😏
