Cristian Zapata is set to leave AC Milan in the summer. His contract expires in June and Ivan Gazids has stopped new contract talks as he is reluctant to having footballers who are older than 30 in the team.
Calciomercato reveals the new CEO of the Serie A giants wants to build a new team based on young players and Zapata is not part of his plans for the future.
AC Milan had been in talks to extend Zapata's contract in the last few months but the player rejected a contract of one year worth € 1.7 million as he wanted to sign a new two-year deal. Gazidis, however, has now stopped the negotiations and four clubs are interested in signing the Colombian.
Fenerbahce are still monitoring the player after that the Rossoneri rejected an official offer of the Turkish club in January. Flamengo are also interested and two Premier League clubs have also sounded out the player's availability: Everton and Watford. The Hornets are a serious candidate for the signing of the Colombian as the owner of the club, Giampaolo Pozzo, had had Zapata at Udinese between 2005 and 2011.

Zapata isn't bad defender but i can see us survive without him and the same time i have faith in our new owner i think the only mistake they make was keeping Gattuso as coach but this summer everything will change
