Football legend Zinedine Zidane has become a grandfather at 49 after his footballer son, Enzo, announced the birth of his daughter with wife Karen Goncalves.
The Juventus and Real Madrid icon's 27-year-old eldest son, who was once part of Real Madrid's squad while his revered father was in charge at the Bernabeu, shared a snap of the couple cradling their newborn child.
Ligue 2 midfielder Zidane revealed that Goncalves gave birth on Thursday and wrote on Instagram: 'Welcome our Sia, our princess.'
Luca Zidane, Zinedine's second-born, was among the footballers inundating the pair with congratulations.
The goalkeeper for LaLiga side Rayo Vallecano shared photos of Enzo and his two other brothers, Theo and Elyaz, smiling while meeting Sia in hospital.
Theo, who is part of the Real Madrid youth system alongside Elyaz, said he was 'too proud' of Enzo.
The couple announced Venezuelan Goncalves's pregnancy by posting a photo of her ultrasound scan at the end of January.
Former France youth international Enzo played for Madrid at reserve levels while Zinedine led the club's second string between 2014 and 2016.
The prospect became part of the senior squad during Zidane's first spell as first-team manager between 2016 and 2018 but did not appear for the club and moved to Alaves in 2017.
He has played for five teams in Spain, Portugal, Switzerland and France since then, including current side Rodez in his homeland.
Two of the 1998 World Cup winner's nephews, Driss and Mehdi, who are also professional footballers, publicly sent well wishes.
Aston Villa midfielder Emiliano Buendia and Borussia Monchengladbach attacker Marcus Thuram, who is the son of Lilian Thuram, one of Zidane's team-mates in France's legendary 1998 side, showed their joy at the news.
Zidane has been out of management since leaving Madrid in 2021, ending his second spell at the club where he won the Champions League in three consecutive seasons between 2015 and 2018 and two LaLiga titles.
The 1998 Ballon d'Or winner is routinely named as a candidate for managerial vacancies at clubs including Manchester United, Tottenham and PSG.
