According to talkSPORT, the decision not to award Liverpool a penalty after Timber pulled Isak's shirt was a "dereliction of duty."
talkSPORT hosts Jeff Stelling and Ally McCoist shared this view and criticized VAR for not intervening at Anfield.
In the 21st minute of the match, which Arsenal ultimately won 1-0, Barcola sent a dangerous cross into the box.
Isak got in front of Timber to head the ball into the net and equalize, but Timber clearly pulled his shirt.
The pull appeared to stop the Liverpool forward from making proper contact, and the ball drifted wide of the far post.
Referee Andy Madley did not see the incident at the time. Isak stayed on his feet in the box and did not appeal to the referee.
VAR did not intervene after a review, as the incident did not meet the Premier League's high threshold for overturning an on-field decision. Arsenal went on to win by a single goal after the Reds suffered a controversial non-call in the first half.
Stelling and McCoist Blast VAR
Stelling discussed the costly controversy on talkSPORT's Breakfast show, saying: "Listen, I'm not going to blame the referee for not seeing it.
"There's no debate about whether it's a penalty. It clearly should have been one.
"VAR did not do its job. It was a dereliction of duty."

Honestly I didn't want to believe this until I saw the video clip, it should have been a penalty cuz that prevented him from a clear shot on goal...

Please note that Nyoni should have received 2 yellows in the 1st 8 minutes, for identical fouls on Odegaard and Havertz. He stamped and raked his foot viciously down from behind on their ankles. He wasn’t even cautioned. Plus Macallister is a disgrace to football for trying to get Madueke red careded for protecting his captain. He’s a typical filthy Argentinian.

Shut up your mouths. Manchester city had 2 clear penalties on Saturday, but you chose to sit at your corners and keep quiet. Why the double standards. When city won against Man united you could not even wait for the game to end before coming out to blame VAR. It's 2 day and minutes ticking but you are still keeping quiet on the city game and now you have the guts to come out talking about a Liverpool penalty. This is Arsenal. They do what they want and get away with it.
