On June 22nd, Norway defeated Senegal 3-2 in World Cup 2nd Round group stage match. After the match, Norway captain Ødegaard spoke to NRK.

Regarding the "Viking rowing" celebration

"We discussed this last night because we saw the scene live in New York yesterday. I saw many Norwegian national team jerseys in the stands, and it was amazing to see, knowing how much effort it takes to come here and play."

On coach Solbakken joining the team's celebration

"It was great to witness such a scene, so I wanted to 'invite' the coach. It was a wonderful moment."
