‘Justice’ – Man Utd troll Arsenal as Havertz misses shootout penalty

MANCHESTER UNITED claimed “justice” was served as Kai Havertz’s shootout miss sent Arsenal spinning out of the FA Cup.

United’s Harry Maguire appeared to call Havertz a “cheat” during a mass brawl after Arsenal were awarded a penalty for the defender’s challenge.

Martin Odegaard’s kick was saved and ten-man United — who had Diogo Dalot sent off — took the third-round clash to extra-time and penalties.

After Havertz’s shootout attempt was foiled by United keeper Altay Bayindir, the Red Devils posted on X: “Justice”.

Havertz missed several big chances before his tame penalty.

His wife Sophia posted messages on Instagram showing screenshots of vile abuse and threats towards their unborn child.

She pleaded: “Please guys be more respectful. We are better than this.”

Bruno Fernandes scored a superb 52nd-minute opener for United.

But 100 second after Dalot saw red for a second booking, Gabriel levelled on 63 minutes.

The ref Andy Madley — without the help of VAR — controversially gave a penalty against Maguire for a foul on Havertz.

During the melee, Havertz went down holding his face after Manuel Ugarte appeared to be pushing him away with his forehead — before Alejandro Garnacho shoved the German in the chest.

Ugarte posted a snap of himself and Maguire, adding: “When we have the ball, it’s a game and when we don’t, it’s a fight.”

United boss Ruben Amorim, whose team will host Leicester in the fourth round, would not be drawn on his players’ bust-ups with Havertz.

He said: “The players told me it was not a penalty, but let’s move on.

“We are more resilient. More aggressive.

“We showed a different spirit. We are improving that aspect.

“The players were really tired but today was our day. I felt a connection with the fans.”

United skipper Fernandes added: “With one player less, we suffered and sacrificed a lot and at the end you get this.

“We want to celebrate but this is when we have to back it up.f”

Turkish keeper Bayindir was the United hero — saving from Odegaard in the match and Havertz in the shootout.

The Gunners’ woes were compounded by striker Gabriel Jesus’ tearful exit on a stretcher after 38 minutes.

Arteta said: “It’s not looking good. He was in quite a lot of pain.

“I love our team and I love how good they are and what they do because in 1,000 games, you should lose one and probably it was this one.

“It’s unbelievable.

“I bet on this team. Are we going to win big trophies? I don’t know.

“But playing like this there are very few teams in the world that can play at that level.”
