Jose Mourinho “annihilated” Manchester United before leaving Old Trafford, says Paul Parker, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer inheriting “a house without a roof”.
The former United defender told Eurosport: “I'm not saying that you can't get rid of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, or that you should.
“You can change him, then someone will come in and people who don't really understand the game will expect things to change for the better. But it will be the same tools in the box.
“The best-case scenario is that the players' mindset will change a little bit and the new man has a hell of a start.
“He might get an extra mile out of them in the game because they want to do something for someone else - but then we'll soon be back to square one. We've already seen it happen with Solskjaer.
“I said the club should sack Jose Mourinho because he annihilated a lot of the players in the hope that it would motivate some of them to avoid being next.
“That affected the whole club, from the playing staff to the back offices. That was why he had to go. He was destroying a club that is on the verge of being destroyed from above as well. That had to change.
“By contrast, Ole came in and has tried his best to bring everyone back together, which he has done and some of the feel-good factor had come back to the club.
“But it will make no difference at all what they do with Ole because Manchester United is like a house without a roof.
“The people in charge are not looking after the roof properly, and now it's getting a bit windy so the house is starting to wobble. And when the house wobbles, it affects the very foundations.”

I think he forgets that Mourinho himself inherited a house of cards. With or without roof, it's a house of cards.

I dont think it would be wise to blame to Mourinho... Ed Woodward started the foundation of sacking...starting with David Moyes (He should have been given more time)...Then The Iron Tulip (Van Gaal)... Then Mourinho who would give them what United had never won (Europa League) then took United to 2nd Position...Then got sacked... part of the fault is the british media who looks hell bent on destructing the ambience of old trafford.. then on top is the Glazers and Ed Woodward...who thinks Manchester United is a shopping Mall whose primary objective is earn profit at any cost and the effect is visible as nude.... Manchester United is doing extremely well in Marketing and Profitability but Manchester United is first and foremost a football club and priority should be on the footballing side first which Glazers and Ed Woodward doent seem to be interested much into. If United had to bring back glory days..they will need either a Director of Football or SACK WOODWARD...

the man is just talking nonsense. it is a mere hatred of Mourinho. He did not day that Mourinho inherited a broken Man U from both Moyes and Van Gaal. In fact the problem started with Fergusson who did not plan to left the team when it reached saturation point and managed to succeed in his last season with the help of Paul Scholes he brought bk from retirement. then the team died completely. Moyes and Van Gaal buried it and Mourinho tried to resurrect it and to this he succeeded a bit. that was why Ole was able to find winning ways in his first spell. Now the Mourihno effect like motion has completely faded and it goes bk to the state of Moyes and Van Gaal. Anyone who accuses Mourinho wrongly does not know how to analyse football.

Mourinho is like a brilliant coworker in your workplace. He brings you results but is not entirely appreciated or liked bcos he is too arrogant and he doesn't get along with ppl top to bottom, his bosses and his peers. How many of you have encountered such personality? You may adore or even envy him in the beginning but you slowly find him unbearable. This also happened at Chelsea and RM. So saying, Paul Parker probably means he is shaking the very foundation of the club. Not just him, I still blame van gaal for selling Rafael, nani, van persie. These are true RB, RW, striker with great character which some, we r still trying to replace.

That’s just mad...how can he say that that’s complete bullshit...Jose Mourinho was the best coach who came to United after ferguson...and he delivered for us by winning three titles and a second place finish in the league. Mourinho should be respected for his work here(even though it came with drawbacks)not criticised. Ole had good beginning to his tenure how can he do that without a roof. In my opinion he had a roof now he himself only took it down

These ex Man United players are just good at commenting at everything even if it does not make sense. For someone to think ole is the answer to what Man United are trying to do is proper insanity. Ole got Cardiff to be relegated. What credentials does he posses? The guy can't read the game and he makes wrong substitutions. You don't require an experty to tell you that you do not sell players without replacement. Again you can clearly see that guy has very poor judgement. With Ole Man United will be relegated like Cardiff mark my words.

It's Morinho that should have been given time and support to turn the team around. When he was sacked, United was in 6th position. At the end of the league, they still ended 6th. He delivered titles too. Management is United's major problem.

One of the best and reasonable analysis I ever read at Allfootball. That was very true Mr Paul Parker. Changing the coach in this case may not help Man U in the long run. Players mindsets is the secret, they need to see the need to change the fortunes. They need to fight. Changing the coach may work but mostly just for a while. I also agree that sometimes the people on top of these football clubs destroy football ,the teams. They need to provide enough funds ,help to the clubs. Or let the people who understand football be leaders. Find the right scouts and the likes. We want to see Man U rise.

United's problems started long before Mourinho. Stop scapegoating the guy it's getting old and boring

Man United went for a coach that sent Cadiff to relegation and they bought he two defenders about 150m yet Mourinho is they cause. They don't criticize they own legends only foreigners and they expect the team to be strong. Always praising one player over others. How will they perform since Ferguson left

Man United has been in decline path before mou took over. so it's not him that put Man United in this our sorry state.

Every player here was there to lift the Europa League, Ole sold players that Mou brought and led the team to that, now they're doing bad due to lack of replacements and he wants to blame Mou? What a joke of a human being he is right now. Blaming the only one to win something that matters after the Fergie era yet saying Ole is doing a great job having a worse record than Mou

that so called united legends are just stupid fools. e.g. the nevilles,Paul scoles, giggs, rio Ferdinand, even Woodwards etc . they know nothing about modern football esp. coaching. they just talk by heart. Garry nevilles flopped at Valencia n England as a coach. as for Paul scoles...the least said about him the better. he couldn't even survive just for a month at a division club...what a shame

I don't agree with you Parker to say Man United is like a house without a roof. You are forgetting that this Manager is the one who ruin everything by selling the players and thinking that the academy players will do the job. The same players he sold are the ones who made him win 15 games in a row. The same players you are castigating are the same ones jose used to win the Europa Cup and coming second to Man City. So don't just talk nonsense here because the problem is Ole.

That's hypocrisy from Parker. When OGS was winning games as an interim manager, Mourihno was not a factor. Now he is facing challenges which he needs to prove his worth as a coach and not blame others.

Frankly speaking, Ferguson did nt prepare the team for someone's take over before his tenure ended. Man U was lke a puzzle to him because he new th team vry well. Thus, whn he needed a missing piece of th puzzle he could know where 2 gt it iregardless of th players quality. Meaning, Ferguson only bought players to feet his puzzle and not necessarily quality bt it always paid off coz some of ths players worked hard and became stars, Bt mostly stars only in his team. Don't gt me wrong, he also bought quality as well. The reason why I am saying all this is because during his last season at th club his team lacked quality bt thanks to Van Persie who scored goals whn th team needed some. Thus, whn he left, this team lacked quality and most of the players downgraded themselves for smaller clubs. Mourinho did nt fail at United bt Pep failed him because Pep is always ahead of him. If not so, Mourinho's playing stile ws also nt liked by th United fan base that's y in th end evn th players could nt play 4 him. In conclusion, Mourinho ws th succeful manager for Man U after Ferguson coz he won trophies and also came second in th league once whre I think he could be first if it weren't for Guardiolas team.

these people are their own enemies.. the board and the sporting director!!; Manchester United needed to be rebuild back after the departure of the iconic Alex Ferguson whom at the time appointed David Moyes as his immediate successor but things couldn't get better instead things started going from good to worst.. the whole members of the board should be blamed for not getting it right interms of having the good workable solutions for the team to bounce back after the resignation of Ferguson.. people should stop blaming the coaches instead the whole board members who couldn't put their ass together when Ferguson was getting older..

utd got all the wrong players, they should have let go of lingard and matic Fred Jones bailly ,they don't even feature and if does are useless, should have got Bruno and keep lukaku and Herrera and let sanchez leave on loan.get rashford playing on the wings instead of no 9 .as no 9 he is useless ,then give James greenwood and other young players play around .instead they did the other way t
