Jamie Carragher has claimed that Liverpool’s Luis Diaz was on the receiving end of a red-card offence when he scored against Brighton.
Liverpool are currently leading 2-0 against Brighton following a 19th-minute strike from Luis Diaz and a 61st minute Mohammed Salah penalty. The Reds seem to be cruising to their eighth straight victory.
The Colombian recruit scored his second goal for the club but the strike came at a personal cost. Brighton goalkeeper Robert Sanchez slammed into the Colombian in a bid to stop him from scoring.
However, Diaz managed to touch the ball past the keeper but seemed to be in great pain. The goal came from a Joel Matip long ball and the player was, fortunately, fit enough to continue.
Regardless, Reds legend Carragher claimed on Twitter that Sanchez should have been given a red card for the offence. The keeper had missed the ball completed and instead slammed into Diaz. Fans will obviously be happy that the Colombian was fit enough to continue.
The forward was fouled in the box in the 60th minute leading to Salah scoring the resulting penalty. Diaz was heavily involved throughout the game and looks to be a huge bargain for Jurgen Klopp’s team.
Liverpool are enjoying a good run of form in EPL
Barring an unlikely comeback, Liverpool will pick up all three points today. Their recent form has allowed the Reds to keep up with Manchester City who will now be looking over their shoulders.
City has responded well since the loss against Tottenham Hotspur a few weeks ago. However, they drew the game against Sporting in the UCL round of 16.
Jurgen Klopp’s team had looked tired midweek against Inter Milan and lost 1-0 courtesy to a goal from Lautaro Martinez.
The manager knows that the team will have to perform much better in the coming rounds if they are to have a chance at winning the Champions League. Liverpool have already won the EFL Cup and have a chance of winning four trophies this season.
However, to make that happen, the Reds will have to continue their domestic form and hope for a rare slip-up from Pep Guardiola’s City. The Blues are fresh off a morale-boosting victory over rivals Manchester United and are still in pole position in EPL, with 10 games to go.
Micah Richards recently claimed that Liverpool and City are the two best teams he has ever seen in the Premier League. While a lot of fans might not agree, one either team winning three or more trophies this season will silence the naysayers.

yes it Jaimie butler's talk about the Liverpool goalkeeper handling out of the penalty box was that not a red card offence yes of ofcource its Liverpool the tegs and car belongs to them they got a penelty it's ok Spurs got theirs but Man U will not get theirs English referees favour certain clubs u must keep quiet
