“This can’t be!” – Laporta lashes out after Barcelona’s collapse against Girona

Barcelona fell to a very disappointing defeat to Girona on Saturday – a result that not only officially handed the La Liga title to Real Madrid, but also sees them drop below their Catalan rivals into third in the standings. For president Joan Laporta, it was all too much.

As reported by MD, Laporta was furious at Barcelona’s collapse at Montilivi, and he was heard shouting “this can’t be!” near the directors’ area. Sources consulted by the Catalan newspaper have confirmed that the event did indeed happen, although they have played it off as a logical and normal reaction.

Laporta was also pictured by Directo Gol’s cameras looking very unhappy in the aftermath of events in Montilivi, as he was talking with multiple Barcelona directors, including Deco.

There’s no doubt that the pressure is re-building on Barcelona, as their season has fallen in on itself over the last couple of weeks. Big changes are needed in the summer, but their financial woes mean that it’s unlikely to happen.
