€50m-rated Porto defender could become a Real Madrid player in the coming days

Real Madrid are closing in on a deal to sign Porto centre-back Eder Militao, but the 20-year-old would not arrive in the Spanish capital until 30 June 2019.

Having watched the Brazilian in five matches, Madrid have decided to make their move for Militao and the agreement is close to becoming a reality.

Porto are aware of that contact has been made between Madrid and Militao, but thus far there has been no interaction between the two clubs.

The Portuguese side have made it clear that they will not accept anything less than the defender's 50 million euro release clause, making a deal simpler albeit potentially more expensive.

Madrid do not want to miss out on such a talented player, particularly after he has generated interest from Barcelona - who signed Jean-Clair Todibo after enquiring about Militao - and Manchester United.

So long as Madrid close the deal before 15 July, the Brazilian's release clause will remain at 50m euros; after this date, his price increases by 50 percent, making a deal rise to 75m euros.

He joined Porto last summer from Sao Paulo for 4m euros, with the Brazilian side retaining a 10 percent sell-on fee, and the Portuguese giants are not afraid to sell their best players.

Even Brazil Yahoo Sport are claiming that a deal for 50m euros has been agreed, with 5m going to Sao Paulo.

However, Madrid state that an agreement has not yet been reached, likely with either Porto or with Militao's agent, Giuliano Bertolucci, but everything is pointing towards the talented defender, who turns 21 on 18 January, joining Los Blancos in the summer.
