The president of La Liga said that "in the NBA they play every 24 hours, they must all be dead," referring to complaints from Ancelotti and other clubs about the calendar and schedules.

LaLiga president Javier Tebas said Thursday that "in the NBA they play every 24 hours, they must all be dead," referring to complaints from Real Madrid and other clubs about the calendar and schedules.

In a conference organized by the ISDE (Higher Institute of Law and Economics), regarding the 72-hour rest period between games, Tebas noted that "we've been doing the Europa League Thursday thing for 14 years, followed by a game on Sunday, and it seems like no one has noticed. NBA players play every 24 hours; they must all be dead," he quipped.

"It was decided to make five substitutions because of Covid, but if you then make three in the 85th minute and complain... If there are 25 players per squad, it'll be necessary to rotate. It can't be that everything is the fault of those of us who manage, of the leagues," he added.

Tebas said he doesn't believe or value "that Madrid won't show up for a match.  I don't think about it, nor has it occurred to me to think about it," he emphasized, referring to the words of Real Madrid's coach, Italian Carlo Ancelotti , who stated that his team wouldn't show up for a match if they had less than 72 hours of rest.
