TWO Premier League footballers have been dramatically arrested over an alleged rape, we can reveal.
Cops swooped on the club’s stadium this weekend.
One of the players, aged 19, was spoken to on suspicion of assault and aiding and abetting a rape.
Sources said he was allowed to leave the stadium after a brief interview before he was formally arrested.
The player spent the night in the cells and was later quizzed by detectives under caution.
His teammate, also 19, was arrested the following day and questioned on suspicion of rape.
Last night, police confirmed the players have since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
The alleged rape is said to have taken place on Friday night.
Their alleged victim contacted officers hours later and filed a formal complaint.
A police spokesperson said: “Officers have arrested two men following a report of a rape.
“A 19 year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and aiding and abetting a rape.
“A second 19-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape.
“Both men have since been released on police bail.”
One source told The Sun: “One of the players was at the club’s stadium.
“The police arrived wanting to speak to him.
“He was taken to a private room within the ground and was spoken to by police.
“The player left the club with another individual and was formally arrested by police later that night.”
Club insiders said talks had already begun over the “next steps”.
It is unclear if they have been suspended pending the outcome of the police investigation.
A club spokesman said: “As the matter is now in the hands of the police, the Football Club will not be making further comment at this stage.”
The Premier League has been plagued by a series of high-profile sex scandals involving top-flight players.
Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood, 22, was suspended by the club in January 2022 after he was arrested by police for attempted rape, assault and controlling and coercive behaviour.
Growing concern
The charges against him were later dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service and the ace is now resurrecting his career on loan in La Liga for Spanish side Getafe.
Former Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy, 29, was accused of rape by multiple women but cleared after two trials last year.
He is now at French Ligue 1 side, Lorent.
Their cases - and that of others - prompted the Premier League to launch sexual consent lessons for all players.
Football chiefs agreed to the move amid growing concern over the slew of allegations.
As part of the blitz, safeguarding experts teach players the meaning of consent and how to seek it.
Stars have also received training on sexual harassment, bullying and handling sexual relationships.
The initiative followed talks between the Premier League and End Violence Against Women, The Three Hijabis and Level Up.

You notice even in this article the first name to be mentioned is Greenwood. Throughout the whole article it’s player/individual or club sources, no name until they mention Greenwood, and they didn’t have to mention him. Dirty writer with your Zionist agenda.
