Pep Guardiola insisted he will not allow his Manchester City players to rest on their laurels but neither is he irked when he feels they are under-performing.
The Premier League champions cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win over Huddersfield at the John's Smith Stadium, with Danilo, Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling all on target.
Despite a poor first half, Guardiola was satisfied with the display but is certain there is more to come from his team
He said on Sky Sports: 'I'm never happy with these players, that's just to accept the reality.
'If we played the second half the way we played the first half then anything can happen.
'When we drop points it would be more difficult to maintain the distance with Liverpool.
'I'm never angry with my players, I'm honest with them and I say all the time what I feel.'
While the Spaniard felt there was improvement in the second half, he is certain his squad can keep improving.
Guardiola added: 'Second half, especially first 15 or 20 minutes we were better. It was a difficult game, we knew it. Our pace was not quick enough but we'll take that result.
'What these guys have done in 16 months or 17 months...we cannot say there is a lack of intensity or they don't want to run. We've just got to manage concepts a little bit.'
