United's interim trainer pointed the finger at the match official after seeing his team's chances disappear with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's spot-kick
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has suggested that referee Jonathan Moss will be furious with himself for giving a penalty against Manchester United in Sunday's reverse at the hands of Arsenal.
Caretaker manager Solskjaer suffered the first Premier League defeat of his United reign as goals from Granit Xhaka and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sealed a 2-0 home win for the Gunners.
Xhaka hit past David de Gea just 12 minutes in, while in the second half Aubameyang was on hand to covert from the spot after Alexandre Lacazette was felled in the area.
Solskjaer, however, took exception to Moss' decision, and expected the official to think again once he had another chance to watch the incident.
"We started slowly, maybe a backlash from Wednesday night, but we created chances and when they get the first goal it becomes a different game," the interim boss explained to Sky Sports.
"We created so many more chances today than when we beat them in the FA Cup. Sometimes it happens, we hit the woodwork twice and had five very big chances ourselves.
"The referee will be disappointed when he sees it as I don't think it is a penalty.
"We just had to go for it towards the end, but we were not really at it and it is one of those days where you have to dust yourselves down from. We have Wolves in the cup quarter-finals and it's a big game to look forward to."
David de Gea was at fault for Arsenal's opener, as the wicked swerve placed on the ball by scorer Xhaka completely baffled the usually dependable shot-stopper.
Solskjaer sympathised with his goalkeeper, but pointed out that United paid the price for a sluggish start from the entire team.
"David is disappointed every time he concedes a goal," the Norwegian added.
"The ball moves so strangely and it looks like it goes to David's left and it changed direction, but in the first 15, 20 minutes we were too slow and never put them under pressure."
Sunday's result means that Arsenal leapfrog their rivals to claim a place inside the top four and stay on course for Champions League qualification.
United now lie in fifth, two points shy of Unai Emery's men, and will not be in action next weekend in the Premier League due to their commitments in the FA Cup, where they face Wolves.

United: The penalty against PSG is fair even if Kimpembe hand was in a natural position, the refs are always right. Also United: Wtf was that. The ref was wrong. We got cheated.

United players should not shocked themselves after the Arsenal 1st goal. They should get into the immediately and find the first goal as soon as possibble. They shouldn't rely everthing on De Gea or Pogba to get back in the game. And for the penalty maybe the REF didn't like United to progress in the final 8 of UCL that's why he award the soft penalty for Arsenal. United last 8 games to be crucial... they need 2 teams above them to drop points at some stages if they really want to be in the top 4 by the end of season... GGMU

can't blame a ref for losing a game when we failed to take our chances, we had chances to score up to four or five in that game but spilled them and we got punished that EPL for you looking forward to the next match, Wolves will be tough so we need to prepare physically, mentally and psychologically Ole at the wheel

We played a good game after the first goal. There were some beautiful passes that setup beautiful chances but we were sloppy at the attacking end. Lukaku’s horrible first touch is something ogs has to still work on. Almost every time it was clear United’s attacks were broke down due that first touch, giving Leno to go have a coffee and come back to save the shot. If lukaku doesn’t work on his first time shots he will become a burden for united. It is extremely horrible from De Gea to lose the Xhaka goal. Still he is our main man and everybody makes mistakes. I hope that is his last mistake this season.

The bitter truth is : We have lost our place in the top 4 !!!!!!! It is 100% obvious as Arsenal have no any other big 6 fixture left whereas we have 2 left against Chelsea and Man City
