The Juventus superstar was given his marching orders for an off-the-ball incident and the football world had plenty to say about the dubious moment
Cristiano Ronaldo was sent off on his Champions League debut for Juventus on Wednesday in what can only be termed a questionable decision.
Having taken issue with a Valencia defender, the former Real Madrid and Manchester United started reached down and touched Jeison Murillo on the head, urging the defender back to his feet after a percieved dive.
The straight red means that, barring an overturn of the mandatory bad, Ronaldo will miss out on both group-stage clashes with Manchester United and left the 33-year-old in tears.
Needless to say, the football world was quick to react, with some poking fun at Ronaldo while others were understandably upset with the call.

Red card or not we stand behind ronaldo... We won today we will win while waiting for him ... UEFA got so many ways to stop ronaldo but we ar3 a team juve and doesn't matter if Ronaldo is on the pitch so long as ronaldo is in our team even if he's not on the pitch he's in juve still... UEFA shouldn't be surprise when juve lifts the trophy at the end with ronaldo

Your comments are sexist. Also, you don’t seem to know anything about football. Let me guess you are a 12 year old troll?
Ronaldo after the red card 🤣🤣
