Jose Mourinho accused VAR officials of failing to follow the game after Andy Robertson committed a gruesome-looking tackle on debutant Japhet Tanganga as Liverpool won 1-0 at Tottenham in the Premier League on Saturday.
Marauding full-back Robertson lost control of the ball deep inside the Tottenham half in the 66th minute at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium before attempting to atone for his mistake with a wild tackle on the covering Tanganga.
Viewers were astonished as the Scotland defender did not even concede a foul for the studs-up challenge on the Spurs youngster's ankle.

The ferocity of the reckless lunge that smashed into Tanganga's ankle left Robertson's fellow defender in agony on the turf and the Reds star clutching his leg as Tottenham players appealed to the officials to take action.
Offering a withering assessment of the incident in his post-match interview, Mourinho told Sky Sports that Liverpool were 'lucky', adding: 'They could perfectly have finished the game with ten [players].
'The VAR, at that time, they were having a tea and they didn't watch Robertson for a red card.'
Referee Martin Atkinson opted not to award a foul and no VAR check in order to review the brutal collision.
VAR officials watch the live action remotely and are allowed to stop matches when they spot potential fouls and infringements.
The angry Portuguese compared the situation to the VAR check that took place when Son Heung-min was sent off after his foul on Antonio Rudiger was reviewed during Spurs' 2-0 home defeat to Chelsea on December 22.

I knew maurinho will come up with a story. maurinho your Totenham had 94 minutes to find the back of the net but they failed. talk about why you didn't Score from kick off. Liverpool made you lose your job at man u, it made your team lose champions league and it has lost here with you as manager. shame!!!! analyse before you open your mouth maurinho. you are not only one know the first to be conquered by the red army. ask Barca, Bayern, psg, man u, man. city, Leicester, arsenal and the list goes on......they will narrate to you...even madrid, almost paid the price but Ramos helped them by breaking the shoulder of the inform striker in Mohammed salah w

VAR and Liverpool, a better love story than Twilight... predictable Liverpool fans, there's no real need to attack the comments, studies show that u benefit from a lot of VAR decisions, without it, you'll still be top of the league anyway so that's what u should focus on and enjoy!

Don't worry Jose....once Liverpool win the league then VAR will change. We all know why Liverpool never won league in 30 years Because there was NO VAR 😂😂😂😂

A lot of sentimental fans here. Jealous of Liverpool not having lost a game. On this same platform a study was carried out this season without and Liverpool still topping the league. Tottenham didn't offer much going forward didn't cos Liverpool problems not VAR, so mou should stop complaining like he always does. So angry and jealous fans grab a chill pill. ROB got the ball first before catching him it was a 50 50 challenge.

Tottenham were just useless today. i watched the game and Liverpool deserve to win the game. Tottenham players were afraid of the ball, they're too week to play Liverpool. Stop complaining and accept defeat

This is a personal APPEAL TO THE EPL!!! VAR IS KILLING FOOTBALL!!! We are seeing the death of soccer through this innovation and it is unfortunate that some teams are benefiting from the mistakes that those who are supposed to be looking at it (VAR) as well as the referees who cannot make a decision and stand by it!!! I am sorry it’s becoming obvious that we’re not going to enjoy the spontaneity that football is supposed to give us and truly see the extent that our adrenaline should afford to all who like the game. I am predicting that VAR WILL CAUSE A LOT OF HEARTACHE AT THE END OF THE SEASON!!! Period!!!

Last season, most fans said that with VAR, Liverpool won't be in the top 4... This season, the sane fans said that VAR is WITH Liverpool... Such a disgrace![Crylaugh][Crylaugh][Crylaugh]
