Paris Saint-Germain have officially announced the signing of Willian Pacho (22) from Eintracht Frankfurt for an undisclosed fee, widely suspected to be around €45 million. Pacho arrives in the capital on a five-year contract as part of the club’s attempts to significantly reinforce the spine of its team.
The announcement of Pacho will help to alleviate some of the concerns that have been growing surrounding PSG’s current injury crisis. Lucas Beraldo added to a not-insignificant list of players after he was forced to withdraw from Les Parisiens’ opening friendly against Sturm Graz on Wednesday, with Presnel Kimbempe and Lucas Hernandez unavailable for the foreseeable future.
Pacho represents a highly promising defender with a high ceiling for growth. Something that has become a key facet of the project that PSG have begun to focus on. His signing also is a significant coup considering that there were reports that the club had to outmanoeuvre Liverpool to secure his signature.
