Manchester United could be set for a summer exodus as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to shift some of the deadwood in his squad, with one player set to reunite with an old flame.
Incoming Roma boss Jose Mourinho has reportedly been given the go-ahead to raid his former club for experienced midfielder Nemanja Matic, who he also signed while he was at Chelsea.
That's according to Corriere dello Sport, cited by Metro, who claim Roma are in pole position to land the 32-year-old with United ready to listen to offers as low as £8.6million as he enters the final two years of his contract.
With several others failing to impress this season, Solskjaer must surely be looking to cash in on some of the fringe players in his squad, while others may just be in need of a loan move to get some game time.
Here are the five deals that might follow if Matic does indeed reunite with Mourinho at Roma.
David de Gea
If Dean Henderson gets the nod to stay ahead of David de Gea this summer, surely the Spaniard will be looking for a move abroad.
While it's possibly more likely that a move back to La Liga would favour the 30-year-old, none of Spain's top clubs are in need of a new no. 1, with Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid and Barcelona all boasting some of the best stoppers in the world.
It may not even be a permanent switch for De Gea to Roma, with a loan deal also a possibility, depending on what happens with Henderson.
Eric Bailly
Eric Bailly's recent contract extension at Old Trafford suggests that his time at Old Trafford is certainly not over.
But with United keen to sign at least one top centre-back to go along with the likes of Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and the emerging Axel Tuanzebe, there isn't an awful lot of room to squeeze him in.
Just nine Premier League starts made the decision even more bewildering, while he was also dropped for Tuanzebe in the recent draw with Fulham.
So with Bailly's new deal set to run until 2024, United may look to loan him out next season to give him that confidence boost he needs to come back in better form than ever.
Phil Jones
Phil Jones hasn't kicked a ball for United since January 2020, and surely a departure this summer has to be the best move for both parties.
Chris Smalling has been a revelation for Roma over the last two seasons, so it's proven that a move to the Stadio Olimpico can work wonders for form.
Jones and Smalling are very well acquainted too after many years at United together, battling it out to make it into the first team.
And they could certainly make a decent partnership at the back for Roma, while their experience would be invaluable to some of the younger faces in the Italian capital.
Alex Telles
The incredible form of Luke Shaw this season has made life very difficult for Alex Telles in his first year at Old Trafford.
The Brazilian would certainly have hoped to have started more than just seven Premier League matches this term, and has had to settle mostly for games in cup competitions and Europe.
Able to play at left-back or left-midfield, Telles is a quality operator that most sides in world football would be keen to have.
Roma have also been playing usual right-back Bruno Peres on the left in recent weeks, suggesting they may need reinforcements in that area
Juan Mata
If it's trusty pairs of hands Mourinho wants, then look no further than another former favourite Juan Mata.
The Spanish playmaker has had an extremely quiet season, making just five Premier League starts, and his contract expires in the summer, paving the way for his exit.
Mata and Mourinho go back a long way, with the Portuguese crucial to the 33-year-old's switch to play in a wider role when they were at Chelsea together, and he could be exactly the sort of experienced head Mourinho is looking for.
