According to A Bola, Portugal national team coach Jorge Jesus has agreed to an urgent meeting with Ronaldo to ease tensions, and the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) is awaiting a response from the captain.
Original A Bola report
Significant progress has been made in mediation efforts surrounding this incident, but the biggest crisis in recent Portuguese national team history remains unresolved.
Jorge Jesus has given the green light for an urgent meeting to reconcile with Ronaldo, accepting the mediation proposal from the Portuguese Football Federation. However, the deadlock persists: the ball is now in Ronaldo's court, and the FPF is still awaiting his response.
Jorge Jesus' willingness represents an important positive signal at a time when the fallout from this rift has spread from the locker room to public opinion, with protest banners appearing on the streets of Lisbon and an extremely tense atmosphere when the national team arrived in Porto.
Despite demonstrating resolve by benching the number 7 against Denmark, the coach understands the urgent need to address the reputational crisis and restore minimum stability within the Portuguese team. The crucial UEFA Nations League match against Norway at Estádio do Dragão kicks off this Sunday.
The Portuguese Football Federation is working to maintain its relationship with Ronaldo, with the highest priority being to establish communication. The FPF refuses to accept the breakdown and end of the captain's tenure with the national team, and is in continuous contact with the player's representatives to arrange a meeting at a neutral location.
The team is currently gathered in northern Portugal, attempting to shut out external distractions, with all eyes on Madrid, where Ronaldo has remained silent since leaving the Copenhagen training camp.
Jorge Jesus' acceptance has eased pressure on the coaching staff, placing the captain at a crossroads: agree to dialogue and seek a consensual resolution, or continue the confrontation, which could end his more than two-decade career with the Portuguese national team on a sour note.

Ronaldo should walk away from this stupid team & it’s management. Let them lose without you. Let this coach see what he can achieve now.

Christiano just called me, he said go fuckk Jorge and the team especially the stupid Bruno. His money is much higher than the rest of the team combine including Jorge! He is on the way back to Middle East and will make another 600million for final 2 years of his career. Goodbye Portugal team, they will lose and will never qualify for World cup after this.

Give him a farewell match and let him take the retirement with pride and honour. He is your legend. He doesn’t deserve to play with Bruno Fernandez (asshole performance in last game should come in WC) and other selfish players. They don’t respect their Legend. Bruno your back pass leads to Portugal defeat. Don’t how a club like United where players die for their badge choose Bruno, a pure selfish shit. I will punch him on his face if i ever see him in reality. You are a disgrace to football. Thank you Ronaldo for that carry job in Euros.

Having good knowledge of how football is managed in a developed world would greatly impact our understanding of reacting to issues of football management. The role of a captain in any nation cannot be underestimated. In most cases, the nation’s football associations do carry their captains along when discussing about appointing new coaches, selection of players and other leading roles. No wonder the captains are given big roles by FIFA during football matches and most especially as the sole player to have discusdions with the referees. The Portuguese FA must have realized this and they have done well. Ronaldo must have reached his prime, yet, he’s still their captain who has done so much for the team and the nation at large. Hence, he deserves so much respect. Unfortunately, we tend to bring our myopic level of understanding and the sportmanship feud between Ronaldo and Messi into this. That shouldn’t be! They are two different issues that deserve to be managed well. No matter what, a coach must treat his captain with dignity and respect, while the captain should also do the same thing.

Exactly… Portugal should show him limit and character so all should know their limits. No one is more important than the team. Anyway the team played better without him
