Speculation about Fullkrug's future at West Ham has been building for several months after the German striker scored just 3 goals in 18 appearances last season.
The former Borussia Dortmund star has barely featured for the Hammers this season and was not in the squad for the clash against Manchester City at the weekend.
Now, the 32 year old is set for a move to Italy where he will join title contenders AC Milan. Journalist Ben Jacobs provided an update on the situation on Monday morning as talks come to a close.
“Milan are hoping to finalise a loan for Niclas Fullkrug this week following advanced talks last week.
“Deal expected to have an option to buy. West Ham also plan to add a new No.9 in January.”
West Ham have been linked with Jorgen Strand Larsen from Wolves, a striker who has scored just one goal for Wolves in the Premier League this campaign in a move that may worry fans.
The weekend’s defeat to Manchester City leaves the side five points from safety, a gap that could grow to six points should Nottingham Forest draw or win on Monday night.
