Those close to Yamal do not hide his disappointment, but they all believe that his mindset will help him quickly "reset."
According to AS, Yamal's inner circle does not hide their disappointment that he finished third in the final Ballon d'Or standings.
Winning the Ballon d'Or was a major expectation for him in 2026.
After the Clásico, he did not travel with the official Barcelona delegation but left on a private plane with his closest companions. He had originally planned to spend the entire Monday in the British capital, soaking in the atmosphere around the Palladium Theatre, and had even booked tables at several restaurants in anticipation of a grand celebration. In the end, he only had fast food.
However, those who know him best say there is no need to worry about Yamal. They said: "He is a different and smart kid, and he will quickly lift his head again."

Surprising he thought he could win. Honestly. Read the requirements, look at Kane and Mbappe’s season and a third place is well deserved. Unless you factor in Olise is way better in that position. Unless you factor in Doué wasn’t even nominated and he’s way more influential 😵💫. Having to bounce back from “losing” an award is a problem your ego created. You wouldn’t be disappointed if you didn’t ha expectation.

I’ve never loved Barcelona or its players in my lifetime. But you gotta appreciate this kid. Already finished in top 3 for the last 3 years in the balon dor itself a great achievement. He’s so young.

Man scored only a goal at the world cup and wanted to win Ballon D'Or. I'm a fan of his talent but he hasn't done enough to win Ballon D'Or yet, if am honest.

The only reason yamal's name was even in this conversation was because of Mbappe trophless season, yamal's impact was only felt in La Liga, Kane and Mbappe had a better individual performance in both the UCL and World cup, Mbappe even won the pichichi in La Liga last season...
