Agent reveals Napoli are in talks to sign Mignolet from Liverpool

Simon Mignolet’s agent has revealed that Napoli are in talks to sign the Liverpool goalkeeper. “He deserves a top club.”

Alisson’s arrival at Liverpool has demoted Mignolet to third choice, while Napoli are keen to land a shot-stopper before Friday’s deadline, with Alex Meret nursing an arm injury and Orestis Karnezis unconvincing.

“We’re in talks but there’s no agreement yet, although it’s in the interests of the clubs to find one,” Nico Vaesen told La Derniere Heure.

“Liverpool would like to keep him, but Simon wants to play and must play. He deserves a top club.

“For [Napoli], Mignolet is their best option in terms of quality, but we must also consider the economic aspect.”
