Sergio Aguero is considering hanging up his boots after suffering a heart issue whilst playing for Barcelona recently with the problem worse than first expected which could force the striker into retirement.
Sergio Aguero is weighing up his playing future after suffering a heart problem whilst playing for Barcelona recently.
The Argentine, who was forced off the pitch, may yet retire with the issue more complicated that was initially expected, reports a Catalan radio station.
Aguero recently underwent test following the heart problem and it has shown that continuing as a professional would not be favourable.
The 33-year-old was forced off 42 minutes into his first home start for Barcelona against Alaves last month and was taken to hospital due to breathing difficulties..
The former Manchester City star was visibly struggling towards the end of the first half, laying down after clashing with an opponent in the penalty area.
Aguero was able to get back to his feet swiftly and walked off.
El Chiringuito presenter Jose Alvarez Haya later reported that his heart rate was much higher than it should have been.
Barcelona issued a statement following the incident that read: "The player Kun Agüero has undergone a diagnostic and therapeutic procedure by Dr. Josep Brugada.
"He is out and for the next three months the effectiveness of the treatment will be evaluated to determine his recovery process."
Aguero said after he was taken to hospital: "I am well and in good spirits to face the recovery process. I want to thank you all for so many messages of support and love that make my heart stronger today."
Pep Guardiola, who worked with the Argentine for five years, urged him to put his life first as he begun his recovery.
"We wish him well from all the people here at Manchester City, we wish him a safe recovery," Guardiola said.
"The time doesn’t matter. Health and life are much more important than anything else.
“We wish him as speedy and safe recovery as possible and he comes back, if possible, to play again, otherwise to enjoy his life and what he has done, and to be careful and be safe for the rest of his life.”

If this is the end, then what a career this man had. One of the greatest strikers to grace the Premier League and had by far one of the best football moments in history. Health is the most important thing and I hope things get better for Sergio Agüero . Thank you aguerosergiokun
