Russia have officially announced their squad for the World Cup.
The World Cup gets underway on June 14, with the final to be played on July 15. The hosts have been drawn in Group A along with Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Uruguay.
Russia's 23-man final squad:
Goalkeepers: Igor Akinfeev, Vladimir Gabulov, Andrey Lunyov;
Defenders: Vladimir Granat, Sergei Ignashevich, Fedor Kudryashov, Ilya Kutepov, Andrei Semyonov, Igor Smolnikov, Mario Fernandes;
Midfielders: Yury Gazinsky, Aleksandr Golovin, Alan Dzagoev, Aleksandr Yerokhin, Yuri Zhirkov, Roman Zobnin, Daler Kuzyaev, Aleksandr Samedov, Anton Miranchuk, Denis Cheryshev;
Forwards: Aleksei Miranchuk, Artem Dzyuba, Fedor Smolov.

In my honest opinion, on behalf of most Russians as we, We do not have the talent for world cup. we need a gun to our head such as soviet times.

Russia doesn't perform unless there is a gun at the back of their heads, it is the nature of their country from pre revolution to the Soviet era. this team like Nigeria doesn't strike fear in the hearts of their opponents like the old Soviet teams and Nigerian teams of muscle brawn and raw talent, granted already half the Soviet team came from now split former Soviet countries.
