Alejandro Garnacho will not find a route out of Manchester United with Barcelona after they turned down the potential of a move.
The Argentine was called out by new boss Ruben Amorim, who chose to leave him out of the Manchester derby win last weekend. Garnacho has since returned to the fold, but it was made clear to him that aspects of his attitude and play needed to change.
The winger has continued to blossom in Manchester and would have interest parties if United did put him on the market. The Spanish giants are not among those interested however.
Garnacho’s representatives have reached out to Barcelona over whether they'd be interested in the Argentine, reports from El Nacional, but Hansi Flick has rejected it.
The German manager, who took charge at the Nou Camp back in the summer, is rumoured to have instantly said no to any notion of the Madrid-born winger heading to Catalunya with particular concerns over him not fitting into the philosophy of hard work and focus.
Barcelona already have a host of impressive players who can play in the wide positions with the likes of Lamine Yamal and Raphinha on their books. They were also heavily linked with a swoop for Athletic Bilbao's Nico Williams in the summer.
Their recruitment strategy under Flick and sporting director Deco is also focused on elite talent that will suit the system they employee. There are more likely to pursue players like Jamal Musiala and Joshua Kimmich with Garnacho’s profile not aligning with their priorities.
Garnacho has since returned to the fold and appeared off the bench as United were humiliated at home by Bournemouth.
The 20-year-old scored a career best ten times last term, including one in the FA Cup final success over Manchester City. This year he's already found the net on eight occasions and remains one of the best attacking threats at Old Trafford.
It remains to be seen where he would fit into Amorim's team long-term with Garnacho capable of playing as wing-back or also in the front three, albeit he would play with less width.

Let's be honest, Barcelona can't afford buying any player other than waiting for free agents to join them.
