AC Milan coach Max Allegri was left delighted with two-goal Rafael Leao after their win against Fiorentina.

Leao scored both goals as the Rossonero won 2-1 on Sunday.

Allegri remarked afterwards: "He's (Leao) back from international duty, he needed to regain his fitness. We're happy with him and the whole team. He has the qualities to help us win matches. But there are the others too.

"Today (Youssouf) Fofana  often came into the box, the midfielders need to score goals and we need to improve on that. But now we need to regain our energy, because this is who we are on Friday. We'll see about (Christopher) Nkunku and (Ruben) Loftus-Cheek, even if they missed days of training."

He added, "Being top of the table is always nice. It means you're further away from fifth place. You have a different goal. You have to maintain your advantage over fifth place.

"We can't lose sight of that. This is the moment in the championship when the table breaks down, victories are important. Regardless of the absences, we played a good game. In football, you win with humility when you don't have the ball. Because if you're humble, you're more aggressive when you have it."
