The American hedge fund Elliott made a late entry into the £5billion bidding battle for Manchester United.
The Times report that the former owner of Italian club AC Milan, which manages $56 billion (£46 billion) in assets, submitted a a late proposal just before Friday’s deadline for the first round of bids for the Red Devils.
