Bruno Fernandes will have to be patient as he bids to return from a rare injury lay-off, Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim warned.
United captain Fernandes sustained a hamstring injury just over a week ago in the Red Devils' 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa, coming off at half-time after attempting to play on for the final few minutes of the first half.
The Portuguese international has never missed more than three Premier League games in a season since joining the club in January 2020.
However, he missed the Boxing Day match against Newcastle and Amorim has ruled him out of United’s next game, against Wolves on Tuesday.
"Bruno was already saying that he needs to train, but we don't know," Amorim said in his pre-match press conference.
"No chance he is going to play against Wolves. No chance. You can write that."
Amorim s delighted with Fernandes' attitude, but he wants his skipper to be cautious with his comeback.
"He cannot be that guy that [when he] is not playing, he's not talking and speaking," Amorim said.
"He's always speaking. That's why he's the captain.
"He has bad things sometimes, the way he moves his arms, but he has a lot of good things.
"Every time he makes recovery from the [previous] game, he is the guy that is going to watch the other guys in training, so there are a lot of things that you guys don't see that he does.
"He's a great leader."
Despite being deployed in a deeper role for United this season, Fernandes has still been involved in 12 goal involvements, with five goals and seven assists.
Fernandes has missed just 10 Premier League games since he joined United in January 2020, with the Red Devils losing five of those.

Ruben Amorim doesn’t deserve to be the Manchester United coach at all. People have been complaining about him, but they few Manchester United Managment, who don’t care about losing are still supporting him.
whom do you want they bring in as coach?
