Ruben Amorim revealed that although it was helpful to receive public support from Manchester United owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, he does not believe he is guaranteed any amount of time at the club.
In an interview with The Times last week, Ratcliffe stated that it could take Amorim three years to make an impact at the club, comparing it to Mikel Arteta’s journey with Arsenal.
The Red Devils are currently 10th in the Premier League after seven games, having won just three of those matches.
United also face a tough test against Liverpool on Sunday. They are winless in their last nine Premier League games at Anfield since a 1-0 win in January 2016 under Louis van Gaal (D5 L4).
Liverpool could become just the second side to avoid defeat in 10+ successive Premier League home games against the Red Devils, after Chelsea.
Despite receiving constant support from Ratcliffe, Amorim does not want his players or staff to believe they have three years to make a difference.
“It is really good to hear it but he tells me all the time, sometimes with a message after games - but you know, I know and Jim knows, that football is not like that,” said Amorim.
“The most important thing is the next game. Even with owners, you cannot control the next day in football."
“It's not just a thing that people talk about, I feel it every day. It's really good to hear it because it helps our fans to understand the leadership know it is going to take a while.
“But at the same moment, I don't like it because it gives a feeling that we have time to work things out. I don't want that feeling in our club.
“The pressure I put on the team or on myself is so much bigger [than that from outside]. In football, especially in big clubs, you need to prove yourself every weekend.”

that's not how football works this days
Then how does it works? football is results based. No time to check time

I think he needs time, I believe he can turn things around if he’s backed the same way Arteta got backed by the arsenal board and let’s face it Arteta is in his 6th season at Arsenal and he’s yet to win a major trophy apart from the FAcup, carabao cup and community shield, even pep at man city took time to win them titles so yeah he needs to be backed
See what we talked about. Amorim won at Anfield yesterday. The momentum is been build now

Amorim is not stupid to know even when they renew Ten Hag contract what happened next after 10 games to the season so what the minority leader says doesn't hold any water if he must remain on the job then results must beging to flow. we want to win 10 games in a row and be there fighting for the league, playing champions league winning domestic cups etc

My problem is you guys keep mentioning Arteta, Arteta play a beautiful football from day one n understand the tactics he wanted to use not him sticking to one tactic, play a beautiful football, entertain fans n give them hope, one day the trophy will come.
Arteta is the luckiest coach alive even Enzo for Chelsea,PEP taught his boys very well they must keep using that knowledge,KLOPP is trying to teach young German coaches through red bull academy!,enough respect to PEP and KLOPP for passing on their knowledge,Amorim learnt from The Special 1️⃣,the only winner for all European cups,he will get it right thank you Sir we have more media pressure already,

Sir Ratcliffe is not interested in the progress of Manutd as he is doing with Nice football Club otherwise why is he given Amorim three years to improve the Club? Infact Ratcliffe will be happy if Manutd is relegated!

Yes, I share the same opinion with you. Ratcliffe is rational in giving him time and comparing him with Arteta. In the Europa final, VAR didn't intervene the Johnson goal which was later revealed offside. As an MU fan I believe Ruben will steer MU to a bright future.
there was nothing wrong with Johnson's goal anyway

I now get a grip of what Amorim is cooking. Manchester United fans, pls see it this way. Arteta has been the gunners boss for, I'm not sure, 4yrs? Imagine Ruben Amorim giving the same time. All these games will be walk over to Man United. He beat city, arsenal in the FA, drew Liverpool away, reached Europa league final, guys let's absorb the torture and humiliation for a season or two. With that, You can bet your dime, Man Utd and Ruben Amorim will deliver more than the EPL, even more. Starting with Liverpool match on Super Sunday
