Ancelotti: Cristiano is a Real Madrid legend, but we are NOT going to sign him

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has posted a tweet confirming that he has not spoken with Cristiano Ronaldo about a possible return to the club, following reports to the contrary.

The Juventus forward has been linked with several clubs in recent days, most notably Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City, but Ancelotti has publicly denied El Chiringuito's report that they have been in touch.

"Cristiano is a Real Madrid legend and he has all my love and respect. I have never considered signing him. We are looking forward," read Ancelotti's tweet.

Cristiano Ronaldo is into the last 12 months of his contract at Juventus and could be on the move before the transfer window shuts on August 31, but it seems that he will not be returning to Real Madrid, where he is the club's all-time record goalscorer.

It was under Ancelotti that Cristiano Ronaldo was able to become a European champion for the second time, after being unable to achieve the success he wanted in the Champions League under the management of Manuel Pellegrini and Jose Mourinho.

In his two seasons working with the Italian, between 2013 and 2015, the 36-year-old scored 112 goals. And in the second season he reached an impressive 61 goals, a career high.

During his three years at Juventus, Cristiano Ronaldo has scored a lot but has failed to break the 40-goal mark.
