Yes the ball was out of play and after that City lost the ball to Madrid and later Camavinga give away the ball to City which lead to the goal. I don't think there is unfair treatment here hence it is Real Madrid player who gave away the ball to City player after the ball. crossing the line for a trow in to the Madrid.
