Carlo Ancelotti lamented Real Madrid's missed chances against Valencia but urged his players to regain their focus ahead of the Champions League quarter-final.
Madrid suffered a shock 2-1 defeat to Valencia on Saturday, with Mouctar Diakhaby and Hugo Duro scoring the goals for the visitors. Vinicius Junior had equalised for Los Blancos, having failed to convert an early penalty.
Valencia, who recorded their first away win of the season, did leaders Barcelona a huge favour by stunning their title rivals, thanks to a brilliant performance by Giorgi Mamardashvili, who made eight saves, including one to deny Vinicius from the spot.
Madrid had 21 chances against Valencia worth 3.47 expected goals (xG), with nine of those shots hitting the target. Valencia, meanwhile, had 10 attempts and scored with both of their on-target efforts.
Second-place Madrid have 63 points from 30 games, sitting four points behind Barcelona, who missed the chance to move six points clear after drawing with Real Betis later on Saturday.
Madrid's chances of winning the LaLiga title have now dropped to 12.8%, according to the Opta supercomputer, with Barcelona the favourites with an 86.3% chance of lifting the trophy.
Ancelotti acknowledged that winning LaLiga had become a long shot but that it should not affect their Copa del Rey and Champions League campaigns.
"We have lost the opportunity to fight for the league with more forcefulness, but the [Copa del Rey final] against Barcelona and the Arsenal clash will be different," Ancelotti told a press conference on Saturday.
"[Arsenal and Barcelona] will attack more, and the game script will be much different. Sure, we will have to be better at the back and be effective up front, but can't lose focus.
"It's a fact that it is not that hard for our opponents to score against us at the moment. But that is no use moaning about it.
"This is not a deserved defeat [against Valencia]. Could we have done better? Sure, but it's not a lack of attitude. We deserved to win and it was because of details. We have to move on and focus on Arsenal on Tuesday."
Ancelotti was unsure who he will name in goal for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Arsenal, as he was forced to start 19-year-old academy goalkeeper Fran Gonzalez against Valencia.
Thibaut Courtois and Ukrainian replacement Andriy Lunin were sidelined with injuries, but the Italian was unable to say if either would be available for Tuesday's match.
"Courtois practiced [on Saturday], and he felt good about it. Because it is still unclear if he will be good to go, we decided not to risk by playing Lunin," Ancelotti said.
"Both will have a few more days to recover, and we will see on Tuesday which options we have."
