Napoli manager Antonio Conte is reportedly open to returning to the Italian national team after their failure to qualify for the World Cup
The four-time winner won’t be at this summer’s tournament after their penalty defeat to Bosnia and Herzegovina in their final World Cup play off.
Former AC Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso has since stepped down from the position as Italy manager.
Conte, 56, is now one of the leading candidates to replace Gattuso, alongside Max Allegri and Roberto Mancini.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Napoli manager would be open to returning to Italy, with president Aurelio de Laurentiis unlikely to stand in his way.
